Graduated high school in 1968, went to Work for Hallmark Cards. Entered the Marine Corps in June 1969. Was sent to Viet Nam in January 1970 and was wounded the end of July 1970. Was medevacked to US Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan and then to Okinawa. Was discharged July 1971, went back to work at Hallmark and married Donna Roe in December 1971. Started college, going to night school while working full time and starting a family. Graduated William Jewell College May 1981. Had a successful career as an executive in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and warehousing, managing distribution centers and big box warehouses. Semi-Retired in December 2007. Drove a Special Needs School bus for a few years and then went to work part-time as a Drover for the Fort Worth Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Fort Worth Herd, taking care of the Horses, Longhorns and reenacting the cattle drives of the 1860s, driving 15 to 20 head of Longhorns down Exchange Avenue, in The Fort Worth Stockyards, twice daily, 362 days a year.
